About this image
Whilst waiting for the darker nights to return I've recorded some short-duration videos of favourite Messier objects.
The attached pic of M57, The Ring Nebula in Lyra, was recorded with my C11 @ f/10 and Watec 910 video camera. The video images were integrations of 5.12s duration and a series of them was averaged in Registax to smooth out video noise, etc.
Just a bit of fun, but it shows some structure in the ring, the mag ~14.8 central star and another one nearby, and other stars giving the impression that they are embedded in the nebula.

Impressive use of the Watec, Alex; nice work.
Thanks James.
The Watec 910 is a very sensitive video camera, ideally suited for recording meteors, asteroidal and lunar occultations, and also for video astrometry and photometry. I have used it to record the brighter deep sky objects, such as the popular targets in the Messier and Caldwell catalogues, rather than having to fiddle with setting up my CCD camera or DSLR.
