Splendid Saturn!

About this image

My first observation of Saturn in the current apparition. Alas the planet is too low down for me to access from my observatory at home, so I used the 20" plane wave DK telescope at the University of Leicester. Although the planet was low down, the seeing was rather good and some splendid details and delicate pastel hues were visible on the disk.
