Analysis of possible bright spot on Neptune 12th Oct 2017

About this image

Gif animation of possible light spot on Neptune at 25min interval.

Image colourised to make it easier to see spot and for aesthetic reasons.

My Winjupos measurements on the clearer 22.40UT image, show the spot approx. centred at long 117° and lat -1° -On 10th Oct 21.23UT Marc Delcroix measured a bright spot at longitude 35° (lat +4°) -On 14th Oct 12.24UT Milika and Nicholas measured a bright spot at long 201° (lat +5°) If those two values, 87hrs apart, are for the same spot that would predict a drift of +46°/day and predict a position at my time of observation of 128° not too far from my approx placement of 117°. Latitude is a close match too.

Unfortunately the gif animation doesn't work so have separately posted the 22-40UT image
