About this image

This is a view taken after the street lights go out (at 23.00 CET) showing what is possible with a sensitive compact camera and a truly dark sky. There is some obscuration of the sky by outbuildings in the garden but the view of Orion was spectacular. Sirius is low in the sky but visible in the gap between the buildings.
