The object was being discussed on the Minor Planet forum, and was then confirmed. This evening was the first opportunity to image the SN  (after a week of dull overcast condition !!)  and there was a clear spell just after dusk,

Very nice. In case you are interested, I imaged NGC 6217 not so long ago. The new bright point is very obvious! David
