About this image

Luckily I was in San Francisco on business for this as not visible from UK.  Packed equipment in case it was clear.  Hotel roof car park was being refurbished so access was not easy.  This was taken at 5.28 local time, security tried to move me on but managed to persuade him that I was not a threat.  Observations were curtailed at 6.30 by arrival of workers with heavy moving equipment.  By then it was light and partially eclipsed moon very low.  The brightest star at top of image to right of moon is HD 75864 (mag 6.9), the star right at bottom of image (to left of moon) is 54 Cancri (mag 6.3).  M44 was near moon (~4 deg) but alas out of my field of view.  This a single frame processed in Faststone.  Colour of moon has not been adjusted.
