About this image

Observing with Jon Culshaw's 6 inch Meade in Hampstead.  The planet was rather low down and is really quite a striking object!  Seeing was around AIV, but with so much dust now permeating the Martian atmosphere, many of the albedo features were reduced to just vague patches.  The South Polar Cap seemed harder to see tonight, and there was a white haze present on the limb to the far north.
