Title

Light curve for spring 2018 maximum of R UMa

About this image

Here is my light curve for the spring 2018 maximum of the Mira type variable R Ursae Majoris.

R UMa has an average period of about 302 days. The average peak magnitude is usually listed as mag 7.5, although my observations have tended to average around mag 7.2 for the peak. The 2018 maximum seems to have been in line with that.

The next maximum of R UMa is due to occur in February 2019
