Using the Clark Refractor at Lowell

About this image

Out here in Flagstaff, Arizona with Pete Lawrence.  We have the use of the Lowell Observatory's 24 inch Clark refractor for the week.  Monday and Tuesday were very wet with powerful storms.  Wednesday night was perfect with Mars blazing away in the sky.  We were able to make a number of observations of Mars and I observed its two moons for the first time visually in a telescope.  Quite a special location!!
