Extreme NW libration, 5th August 2018

About this image

The NW libration was almost at maximum on the 4th and 5th of August. This image is cropped from a large mosaic (which is too large to upload). The large crater with the prominent peak complex is Pythagoras, which has been shifted well away from the limb by 7 degrees of libration in both latitude and longitude. The inset shows the most westerly feature that could be identified with certainty: the crater Zsigmondy A, which has a western longitude of 102.4 degrees, marked by the lines drawn next to the limb.
