About this image

"Proper" astrophotography is still work in progress for me - I have previously tried with camera on fixed tripod but only managed to get the core of the galaxy. This time the camera was on a properly polar aligned mount and the clouds were kind enough to allow a few hundred frames. 30 seconds was all I could manage due to light pollution. I wanted to put a stake in the ground from which to improve :-)
