About this image

The planet Mercury rising above the horizon. Taken on La Palma. Earlier in the evening I watched a crescent moon rise blood red through the low atmosphere when TheSkyX was telling me it was still below the horizon. Good skies and 2400m altitide certainly help.

Very nice. The black ground and then the colours and brightness gradients make for an arresting image.
