Mars 23rd September 2018

About this image

Two drawings of Mars I made on 23rd September using the University of Leicester's Observatory with Dr Hugh Sasse. Drawing 1 was made in reasonable conditions, however by the time of drawing 2 the seeing had started to fall off.

Points of interest include:

SPC now small and rather obscure.
Mare Chronium seen
Electric and Eridania showing some brightness
Mare Cimmerium shows some interesting details in drawing 1.
Phlegra and Aetheria visible but not particularly notable.
Elysium seems to be rather dull
