My Tasco 60mm refractor (purchased from Harrods) circa 1975 and my trusty home-built 4" Newtonian circa 1979.

My plywood tube 4" Newtonian was a lovely instrument with no dew issues whatsoever. Who needs Carbon-Fibre? It only cost me £20 for the mirrors, I built the tube at school as a project and the rest was built from bits just lying around in my Father's garage. The finder scope was a Christmas gift. So, total cost £20.
