About this image

Mars from 29th October- the planet is now much higher in the night sky and still has a reasonable disk size so it's worth continuing to observing it.  Tonight the Mare Cimmerium was present on the disk- although seeing was largely poor, it is clear that Cimmerium is not a continuous streak but composed of many patches of varying intensity.  The preceding limb was very bright no doubt due to white cloud activity.
