About this image

A quick snapshot of the Pleiades taken on a very variable night at Denis Buczynski's observatory in northern Scotland. When the sky is dark it is very dark and transparent but there was a lot of drifting cloud around on this night so I couldn't get many subs. Two other problems with this system are that I couldn't rotate the camera so the orientation was pretty random and bright stars suffer from significant diffraction spikes which come from the Epsilon's secondary support spider. I know some people think these look nice (and even add them in software when the optics don't provide them) but I hate them. Apart from that the Tak Epsilon is a very nice design and gives a very nice flat field with a fast f ratio.
