About this image

Venus is currently at its western stationary point following inferior conjunction on October 26 and is making its nearest approach to Spica although it does not pass the star as it is about to commence its prograde movement.   Venus enjoys a very favourable early period of this morning elongation and will be a spectacular pre-dawn object over the festive season this year.
