U Ophiuchi in 2018

About this image

This is my light curve for the Algol-type eclipsing variable U Ophiuchi in 2018. It combines observations made over a number of nights during the late spring and early summer. The catalogued period is approx 1.677 days, with the primary eclipse depth being listed as approx 0.6 mag.

There is some scatter - U Oph only reaches an altitude of around 35 deg, at best, from my location - but the primary and secondary eclipses are clearly seen.
