About this image

After nine years and two months, the first Nova to be discovered in the constellation of Eridanus has still not returned to it's quiescent brightness - being over one magnitude brighter now then it's pre-nova state.

Visual observations from Birmingham, and V-band CCD observations using the old BRT and OU COAST telescope reveal the published 730d period in the light curve, with a shorter (orbital?) period also evident.

The Nova was discovered by K. Itagaki, Yamagata Japan on Nov 25.536UT 2009 at mag. 8.1C
