About this image

One of the big three of the local group, M33 is smaller than the Milky way with a diameter of about sixty thousand light years, and a distance of approximately 2700,000 light years.  The bright star to the left of  M 33 is the double star HD 9483, 8.0m, spectral type A3 at a distance of 871 light years.  M 33 is about 3000  times further away!
