About this image

Finally upgraded my old, cramped wooden roll-off observatory with a new larger metal shed. The roof utilises electric gate rolling gear and can be opened with just your little finger, unlike the old observatory roof which was becoming harder and harder to move. Shown here housing my trusty Skywatcher Explorer 150P.

I now plan to fully automate the observatory, including the roll-off roof.

congrats on the new obsy Ian. It looks really good. I’m sure you’ll get lots of use out of it.

The only issue I have is "condensation drip" from the metal roof the morning after an observing session. My old observatory being wooden didn't have this problem. If you or anyone else has any suggestions I'd appreciate it. I thought a couple of old PC fans might help.
