About this image

Sinope was V=18.0 at the time of the observation according to the MPC ephemeris.  The field is rather crowded (the two stars either side of Sinope are separated by 12.5 arcsec) but Sinope appears precisely where predicted (measured at 17:12:12.9 -22:48:49 J2000) and there is no star at that position brighter than mag 19.9 in Gaia-DR2.  Limiting stellar magnitude is close to 19.0.
