About this image

This open cluster in Cassiopeia as got a few nicknames, The Owl or ET cluster etc.  Gaia DR2  gives its distance as over 10,000 l/y, The bright star Phi Cas is spectral type F0Ia  a luminous super giant.  Gaia data puts its distance at 13,000l/y, so if this is correct its absolute magnitude would be -8.0M, that is a whopping 135,000 times the Suns luminosity
