About this image

This image was capture on the night of 13th September, a full moon! Despite being a full moon, the sky was clear and the wind was very light (important for those of us without observatories) and so I had a go any way at this fairly dim nebula. The dark molecular cloud nebula, Barnard 175, stretches off to the top of the field of view of this image and extends beyond it, spanning some 7-light years. The magnitude 9.3 star that has collided with the molecular cloud is creating the bubble and blue reflection nebula, Cederblad 201. The combination of the dark nebula and the reflection nebula is VdB 152.

The image was captured on a single night from 30x600-second (total 5-hours) light frames. Despite the full moon the image has been captured quite well.
