A stunning image, with Saturn at such low altitude and just after sunset!  Very impressive.

I agree wholeheartedly with Dean - I mean, look at the polar hexagon! I do look regularly at the Meteoblue seeing predictions, and it has been good the past few nights. For example: https://www.meteoblue.com/en/weather/outdoorsports/seeing/tynemouth_united-kingdom_2635269

You have inspired me to go out this evening with my C8 and 2x barlow!

Thanks guys,

Seeing was reasonable on Wed night but no better in IR than colour. Usual issues though where it looks like you are looking through a stream in front of the planet- I call this ‘Running River’ seeing.

Thursday night was different though. No ‘running river’ a bit wobbly but much more detail and much better in IR than colour.

Shows that it is always worth getting the scope out- you never really know!

 Cheers,

Martin
