Christmas Eve Venus!

About this image
A Christmas Eve observation of Venus-  I had to use my 8" telescope as the planet is still very low down.  Naturally seeing was fairly poor but there were a couple of dark streaks visible in the Cytherean atmosphere.  Other points include:
  • Bright Limb Band: visible and complete
  • Terminator: geometrically regular
  • Cusp Caps: Not seen
  • Cusp Collars: Not seen.
The cloud gap lasted approximately 20 minutes- a vast improvement on the last three months!
Happy Christmas to all and clear skies for 2020!
