Image of 2017 T2 PanSTARRS taken on the 4th February.

42 x 120-second images captured with the camera 2x2 binned. Images were drizzle integrated in PixInsight to provide a 0.6-arcsec/pixel resolution.

To provide accurate colour calibration, the 16-bit original RAW frames were first calibrated (using bias, dark and flat frames) and debayered to provide the colour information. A PixInsight background extraction was carried out on each of the individual 42 images followed by a photometric colour calibration. This ensured that the colour of the comet in each of the individual images was corrected using the known colours of the stars in each image.

Comet and background stars were then separately aligned and integrated at the 21:38UT positions.
