Supernova in NGC 4636

About this image

This was the brightest supernova listed on 25th February at magnitude 11.2.   For once it is also in the outer regions of galaxy NGC 4636 (in the lower reaches of the Virgo galaxy cluster) and therefore easier to pick out.   This is a stack of nine three-minute subframes with a colour camera and flats and darks subtracted.
