About this image

I discovered this object as a potential target whilst browsing Sky Safari Pro. I was intrigued by its appearance and then discovered it to be a flocculent galaxy, i.e. one with patchy and discontinuous spiral arms. I've not shared this image until now because I was unsure that I had made a mistake in processing the data, given the evident halo around the galaxy.

I'm enjoying this image, not only for the main subject but also for the mag 15 and 16 galaxies in the lower centre of the image.
