About this image

The weather here has been frustrating the last new nights. The forecast has predicted long clear periods but these have failed to materialise with lots of thin cloud about. This image was taken during a short gap this morning. It was still hazy as can be seen from the bloated stars. I get a total magnitude of 8.7. Some visual observers are seeing it a magnitude brighter. There is definite evidence that the rate of brightening is slowing down now. The COBS lightcurve is here.
