This is one of the (few) adverts I found for an astronomical telescope when I was first bent on getting one around 1960. H.N.Irving & Son of Teddington, Middlesex offered this 6" F8 reflector plus a host of parts and accessories listed on a couple of typed sheets. Notice also that if you did order one it would be about three months before you received it.

£69-10 was a lot of money in those days, way beyond budget. What I actually got (an Ottway 4" reflector) cost £5-19-6d and that was as a kit which had to be assembled by the purchaser. Still, I could dream ...
