Above the plane of our Galaxy out in the vast  regions of intergalactic space is the edge on spiral NGC 4565 also known as the needle galaxy. Its located in Coma not far from the north galactic pole. Distance is approx. 42 MLY, the galaxy below right is NGC 4562
