About this image

A view of Venus low down in the NW sky with the constellations of Auriga lying above Venus and Gemini to the left. Elnath (beta Tauri) lies just above Venus.

This was taken the day after Venus achieved its greatest northern declination for this apparition and in the eight year cycle of apparitions of Venus. At 27deg 48mins north it culminates at 67 degrees here, higher than at the equator.
