About this image

Comet C/2017 T2 PANSTARRS has been a little neglected of late with the interest generated by the break-up of ATLAS before it became a great comet.   2017t2 has been relatively quiet, slightly brighter than a few months ago and moving sedately through our Northern skies.    As this sequence shows, it is not only well-placed for us to observe, but is developing an interesting tail as well as its coma.  I was lucky to catch it last night as it was passing a small group of brighter stars with some nice variety in their colour to offset the comet.  The negative half of my image shows more detail of the tail length.
