About this image

A stack of 2500 frames from 50000. A large cardboard box on the roof of my observatory shaded the scope from the sun. Success with Mercury means a good image and not frying the camera!

The reference image is from Stellarium suitably blurred to match the telescope image.

The bright white is Kuiper crater at at latitude 11 south, longitude 31 west.

Sorry, I'm not a planetary imager. Is this with Registax or Autostakkert? Also, how are you selecting which images from your set to employ?

I use AutoStakkert. It sorts the images on quality and makes quite a good job of it. I stacked the top 5% of 50000 frames in this case
