About this image

High winds made it difficult to obtain a steady shot but this was the best of the bunch. A monopod helped. Mercury about 3.5 degrees west of Venus (probably an overestimate but I was trying to make a judgement using 10x50 binoculars in gusty conditions). Mercury was surprisingly bright (to me - I have never managed to see Mercury before) and the distance between the planets was greater than I had visualised. I had to hike up the road to a nearby sports-field to get a clear horizon, so no telescopic shots. I do wish my neighbours to the W and N would do the decent thing and lop about 20' off their trees!
