Virgo Cluster/Markarian's Chain

About this image

A well known area of sky for galaxy hunters - here is a portion of the Virgo Cluster, including M87 and Markarian's Chain (with major members M84, M86 and the Eyes (NGC4435+NGC4438/Arp120)).

Had a lot of trouble with balancing the colour on this one - a proportion of the green data got excluded due to very poor transparency/haziness, and with the remainder subsequently found it hard to get an even result across the field. We were also hindered a little by intermittent issues on the mount, which have resulted in swapping the controller out to try to resolve the issue.
