About this image

Stacked frames, merged to show the length of ion tail which is about 7 degress. Head is green, dust tail is creamy (yellow) in the un-stretched images, and the ion tail blue.  Not the best rendering, but shows some of the fainter details invisible to the eye in good transparency.   A  great comet !

Great image Tim . The ion tail shows up well.  A great Comet  pity it is  so much in the  twilight  and then drops into  the  haze of the Horizon.

Tim - Great image.

Neil - Comets like this are generally at their best just after perihelion so they are nearly always low in the twilight or murk. Hale-Bopp was rather an exception but it was a very odd comet.
