About this image

This project commenced on 29 May 2020 and continued across four separate nights when the ski was clear finally concluding on 6 August 2020.

The imaged captures the Iris Nebula in LRGB using the ZWO ASI1600mm Pro camera. Over 20 hours of data was captured, however, some exposures were binned mainly due to Starlink. Overall the following data was used to create this image;

Luminance - 360 exp x 90s

Red - 134 exp x 90s

Green 131 exp x 90s

Blue 118 exp x 90s

All Bin 1x1

18.8 hours of integration time.

Data processed in PixInsight. LRGB masters stacked to create a Super Luminance Master. RGB combined, noise reduction, permanent stretch applied. RGB Image combined with Denoised, stretched Super Luminance then contrast enhancement, colour saturation and sharpening applied.
