About this image

Earlier this year I started to subscribe to iTelescope in order to build up points and be able to image during poor UK winters and explore other deep sky objects of the Southern Hemisphere.

I have always wanted to image M27 and whilst visible from the UK unfortunately I live at the bottom of a hill and my neighbours house is in the way. So I decided to attempt capturing this target using iTelescope and their observatory in Nerpio in Spain.

As well as having the benefit of dark skies, the equipment available is stuff dreams are made of with my poor budget. Also all the sub frames that were captured are already calibrated really saving on processing time.

This is my rendition of M27 in the HOO palette. Hydrogen Alpha is assigned to the Red channel and Oxygen 3 to the Blue channel. For Green, I blended 30% Ha with 70% Oiii.

Data;

30 subs at 5 minutes each for Ha.

28 subs at 5 minutes each for Oiii.
