About this image

Imaged Mars last night at a similar longitude to that of Lockyer's drawing of 25th September 1862 made with his 6.25" refractor which is still in regular use. There may be 158 years separating these images but most features are still recognisable. I guess I should have used the instrument itself for added provenance!
