Title

Mars 26th Nov. 2020 IR(sG)B vs RGB

About this image

Head-to-head processing comparison on Mars. One-shot colour on left & IR + synthetic Green + Blue composite on right. The IR(sG)B shows more cloud details & is much better when seeing poor but, when the seeing is good, & you are diffraction limited, the colour resolution wins out as the airy disc size is smaller due to the shorter wavelength.

Have to say I've really enjoyed seeing your excellent work over this Mars season. Fantastically detailed images and something to aim for.
