About this image

7 hours and 40 minutes total image integration, 46x600s frames, captured on 3rd and 4th February 2021.

M81 still captures the imagination.  Such a classic and beautiful spiral galaxy with conspicuous star forming nebula dotted through the spiral arms.

The image was captured with a QHY268C one-shot-coulr camera and an Optolong L-Pro luminance filter.

Camera TEC set at -20C.  Light frames overscan calibrated for bias: and calibrated with master dark and flat frames.

All image calibration and processing carried out with PixInsight.  SGP was used as the telescope control and image capture software.
