About this image

The floor-fractured crater Posidonius lies on the northeastern side of Mare Serenitatis. This image was acquired under good seeing conditions (Ant II-III), allowing plenty of detail to be captured. The rille to the upper right is Rima G Bond, named after the nearby crater. The Serpentine Ridge (Dorsa Smirnov) can be seen on the mare.
