About this image

The classic pair of Aristoteles and Eudoxus, plus the smaller crater Burg in Lacus Mortis, imaged in moderate to poor seeing. The use of a red filter improved the image stability, and stacking only 400 frames resulted in plenty of detail being visible. The 30 km wide crater Mitchell was badly damaged by the impact that formed Aristoteles (88 km wide).
