About this image

Reports from BAA VS indicate a brightening - I used 10x50bs to make an estimate in the region of v5.5. The camera was piggy-backed on the 'scope and raw files stacked in DSS and processed in PS CS2.  The star images have a red excess difficult to remove owing to chromatic aberration in the lens coupled to the extra Ha pass of the camera. Critical focusing is needed to minimize this although its not so apparent on the stacked images.  Ha regions show much better.

A very nice Nova and easy in binoculars near M52.     (..The frame is cropped in about 50% area)
