About this image

Open clusters are sometimes overlooked by astrophotographers though they can produce very pleasing images.

Last night's sky was amazingly clear despite short hours of darkness. You will notice that the bright stars of M39 in the rich Cygnus region are quite blue, indicating hot and relatively young stars that were born at the same time. Their estimated age is 270M years only and they are 1000 light years away.
