About this image

These three images of the ring nebula are from data collected on eight separate nights in April, May and early June. The top image is using a broadband filter, the Baader S, the middle image is that data combined with earlier luminance data and balanced to bring out detail in M57. The lower image is the data stretched to show the outer layesrs to the ring nebula and nearby faint galaxy IC 1296. In all 20 and a half hours of data collected to enable me to bring out the outer shell then merge back in the same data again to show the detail in the ring as well.
