Nova Her 2021 showing red

About this image

Thanks Jeremy for the alert regarding this interesting nova. It's clearly showing red colour which may indicate that ionised hydrogen atoms are coming back to lower orbits hence emitting in the Balmer spectral lines.

The nova is nicely positioned in our night sky for many future observations. The bright star in the image is a 5.3mag FF Aql.

Hi Mazin,

Another lovely image of a nova.  I really like your wide field views showing colour contrasts in the stars.

Mike.
