About this image

A fine rich cluster in western Cygnus, it has been nicknamed the Fox Head cluster more for its visual that photographic appearance. Somewhat isolated from the riches of the main Milky Way, it can be found 7 degrees west of Sadr (gamma Cygni) and is most attractive 7th magnitude group for two dozen stars of 10th-12th magnitude (and many fainter) within a tight 5 arc-minutes. North is up in the image.
